Steak and mushroom poutine

So you’ve got some left over steak and you want something awesome.

Make a pan of fries with seasoning salt.

Grab a packet of gravy powder (mushroom worked awesome) and make in a frying pan as directed.

Add: 1 tbsp pepper, 1 tsp dill and 1 tsp parsley

Stir in bite size chunks of left over steak

Layer fries, shredded Tex mex and gravy until satisfactory (large bowl)

Loaded potatoe salad

Might be a rehash …

3/4 cup sour cream

1/4 cup mayo

1/2 cup bacon bits bigger is better

1/2 cup shredded cheese

2 heaping table spoons onion

1 table spoon dried chives

2 cups cooked diced potatoes

Less dishes pasta

Order of content seems important:

1 lb frozen hamburger/pork mix in chunks

1/2 cup diced onion

1 large can tomato sauce

2 cups frozen veggies / corn

2 tbsp oxo beef

1 tbsp oregano

1 tsp paprika

1 tbsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp red pepper flake

1 can (use sauce can) water

Stir mix ensuring to leave meat on bottom

4 cups uncooked pasta (water/sauce should just cover the pasta to prevent uneven cooking)

Used meat setting for 15 min – took forever to pressurize.

Serve with garlic toast.

Left over stuffed cannaloni

Dice 1 handful precooked turkey

Dice 1 handful precooked chicken breast

1 box stove top turkey stuffing

1/3 cup miracle whip

1 tsp paprika

1 cup cooked mixed vegetables

Mix the above and stuff into precooked canolli shells

Place single layer into casserole dish

Mix 2/3 can water and 1 can broccoli cheddar soup when smooth pour over casserole dish.

Sprinkle with paprika

Cover with foil

Bake at 350F for 30 min

heat 15 min at 350F uncovered or until bubbly

Beef stew

1 lb steak bites

2 lbs potatoes

1/2 lb carrots

1 can kidney beans drained

1 can 5 bean mix drained

Whisk together:

1 pinch red pepper flakes

2 beef bullion cubes

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp garlic powder

4 cups water

Cook in instapot on chicken for 1 hour

Works good puréed for baby too

Husband says it needs doughboys

Serves 2.5 twice and a week of baby mush

Bacon wrapped chicken

Line pan with foil

Lay out 4 pieces of bacon

Add chicken breast

Top with handful of mixed cheese and handful of mushrooms

Wrap bacon around chicken cover loosely with foil

Cook at 350 for 45 min then broil for 10-15 uncovered until internal temp is 83c

Serve with rice or potatoes

Douglar’s tomato soup

In large pot

1 large can Diced tomatoes

2 cloves pressed Garlic

1 large can Tomato sauce

1 Diced Onion

1 tbsp Rose Mary

1 tbsp Paprika

Ketchup 1 cup

Boil vigorously

Add pre cooked diced bacon

Any veggies (frozen peas work well)

Boil until veggies cooked

Add 1 L whipping cream (35%) and simmer on low

Add pepper to taste at the end.


Makes 7-9 larger pancakes. Or double this and use a large cookie scoop to make dollar cakes for your commute.

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 1 tablespoon white sugar

• 1 1/4 cups milk

• 1 egg

1 banana

• 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Splash of vanilla

Butter the pan for extra butter flavour

Cream of chicken plus

1/2 cup onion mix

5 cubed chicken breasts

4 cups water whisked with 2 chicken oxo packets

1/3 diced cooked ham

3 chunky cut Russet potatoes

Pinch of red pepper flake

Tbsp garlic powder

Tbsp dried chives

Instapot on keep warm 4 hours

2x chicken setting

Add 250ml half and half, 1 cup milk and tbsp corn startch.

Simmer until thick

Cool and bullet for baby 😉
